Well, as I mentioned, I have not posted much lately. We didn't have a whole lot of new news, but this has been a fairly eventful week. We finally made a place for the dining room table and were able to eat a real meal at it, with Titus at his high chair and everything. (He usually eats in his bouncer :-( I know, I'm a bad mommy!)
Tim has done a great job getting his garage stuff out of the kitchen and getting his garage organized. I know for most that is the last place to be organized, if ever, but not for him. He loves a clean, neat workspace and that is his workshop and haven. Regardless, our kitchen is getting cleaned out! In light of getting the kitchen clean and organized, we have a stovetop as of today!!! Thanks so much Mom and Dad!!! That was a great b-day present! We have most of the painting of the cabinets done. We just need to work on the doors. I don't remember if I mentioned it or not, but we have a dishwasher too. Life is good with a dishwaher. God bless America!
I finally got phone and internet service to our house, just to realize that we have covered up all the phone jacks when we were patching and replacing drywall. How silly are we? I did find the phone. So that is at least a step in the right direction, but Tim is going to have to figure out something with the phone lines. If you want our new phone number and address, just e-mail me and let me know. Make sure and give me your name in the e-mail if you think there's any chance I won't recognize it since I have made this a public blog. Don't want the bad guys to find us! ;)

Chaos
Our house is a mess right now. Even still, it's been nice to have our own space, messy as it may be. We still have a lot of work to do on the cabinets. After that, we can unpack the kitchen and that will make things much easier. Right now, we have a working fridge, sink, oven (not the range), and microwave. So we are able to cook, but nothing that requires too many real dishes or a range. I hate washing dishes, and without a dishwasher, I avoid using too much stuff that needs to be washed. ;)
Our room and our clothes are fairly well in place and I got the bathroom nearly ready to go on my days off. Taking showers is a really nice thing. I can even see myself in the mirror that is back on the wall.
Titus has his crib back and he loves it! He is up high and he has a bouncy mattress. He loves to bounce.
Titus got his 1 year shots today. He did so well. He also had to get blood drawn. He did try to bite the poor girl drawing his blood, but at least she didn't get stuck. Bad news is, I got a call from her this afternoon that one tube clotted, so we have to go through all that again. He didn't get sick this time around, so it was good overall.
We went to Sears to get pictures taken and the whole experience was a disater. They were running behind, the guy didn't move very fast, he was the only one working there. He wasn't even a good photographer. He literally demonstrated where I should sit after Tim was already in place. This put him in Tim's lap! Weird. Oh, and he smelled bad. I finally got aggravated enough to leave without even seeing the pictures. So I have to make another appointment to see them. If they're not worth buying, we're going to have someone else do them. I'll keep you posted as soon as there is something available for order.
I think I have ramblled on long enough for this post. More later. Have a blessed day!

Our "new" house
I'm going to try and post some pictures when I get home this morning, but I can tell you a little about the house we purchased. We closed on April 18, so we have been working on it a while. It was a bank foreclosure and we knew it needed some work and quite a bit of cosmetic updating, but as most remodels go, the more we tore out, the more we needed to tear out.
The previuos owner loved pink and teal. There was mauve carpet all over the house. We ripped all of that out, just to find nasty pad that indicated they must have had pets. We thought that we would try staining the concrete unitl we realized there was old schoolhouse tile underneath with glue that last forever. We thought we were in an expensive mess at that point, but God blessed us with an amazing deal on laminate wood flooring, so we bought enough for the living and dining room, the hall and the master bedroom. Tim has since placed all that with the help of his dad and our friend Nick. It looks really good. The floors in the kitchen and baths were nasty peel and stick tile. We slowly chipped all that up and replaced it with ceramic tile. That came out really nice. We left the carpet in the other 3 bedrooms and had it cleaned. I think that will do for now.
Tim has spent a lot of time working on plumbing. I am very grateful the he and Mark (his dad) were able to get thinks fixed. My parents came early in the summer and helped with all the sheetrock work that needed to be done. We have been painting like crazy and we're still not done. I went a little crazy making sure I had some color in the house after renting white walls for so long. I'll put pictures up of all that. Titus' room is going to be airplanes.
The yard still needs a lot of work. I hope to get to that in the fall. if not then, the spring. We have to replace the fence and we have a lot of debris to haul off. Our furniture and all of our other belongings that have been in storage for 6.5 months arrive Sunday. It's pretty much like they left it because I have been at work all week, but I have some days off and I hope to be staying there within the next week.
I'm excited for the after pictures. They will be coming soon. I'm excited to be comfortable in my own space again and I excited to be able to cook and sew and scrapbook again. All in all it has been a blessing and I'm glad we were able to get this house, but it has definitely been at lot of work.

What's new with us.
Well, I think I'm figuring this out. I just got off work, so forgive my spelling and grammar. I just wanted to give you all a quick update if you haven't seen us in a while. We are now living in Lubbock, TX. We just bought a house that we are renovating. Our furniture just arrived after having been in storage for over 6 months, so we are looking to move in soon, even though there is more work to do. I work in labor and delivery as a nurse. Tim has a job at a company that repairs tools. He is working part time now and working on the house and watching Titus, but in the fall he will go full time.
Titus' 1st birthday was Saturday. He is amazing. He knows several signs. He is starting to get some words and took his first steps last week. More about him later. He is a true joy.
We are glad to be out of the Navy. We still feel like we are transitioning, but we are getting more accustomed to civilian life. Some parts are easier, some are harder.
I'm about to fall asleep, so I need to get in the shower and go to bed. I'll try to fill in the bits and pieces as I go.
