Titus is still amazing, though we are biased. :-) He learned what to do when you point a camera at him. You will see the cheesiest smile ever!
His language skills have exploded over the past week or two. He knows where most all of his body parts are and he will try to repeat most anything you ask him to. He never fails to impress us!
On a more challenging note, he is asserting his independence. He knows what he wants and will tell us just how upset he is when he doesn't get it. He gets into everything. He is still far more interested in random household objects than age-appropriate toys. Tim says he will be a great mechanic one day! You can tell by the way he reacts to events that he is really starting to understand how things work.

Pumpkin Decorator Extraordinaire
Yesterday, I let Titus decorate a little pumpkin with fingerpaint. He was a little timid at first, but he got into after a while. He wore daddy's old Allied shirt as a smock, which he thought was quite funny. He even learned how to say pumpkin, sort of.

Fall Festival
These pictures are from Titus' fall festival at his daycare. I made him a duck costume since that was one of the first words he learned. He also learned quickly what a duck says, even though it comes out more "kack" than "quack." His little toddler waddle made the costume! They had a costume contest. He made it to the final round, but didn't win. That's okay. He was the best in our mind!! He did earn the name Ducktitus or Ductitis. Not sure how to spell it, but thought it sounded like some sort of condition. He gets to dress up again tonight for the Trunk or Treat at church.
Sorry this is sideways. Apparently, you can't turn the camera longways and do a video. Live and learn. You get the idea anyway. When I asked him what a duck says and he said "bee" and waved his hand, he was saying "fish" and making the sign. Fish usually comes out "beesh " The fish tank is right next to him.

We took Titus down to the pond to feed the ducks a few weeks ago. We all had a good time. Titus ate more of the duck food (cereal) than he fed the ducks, but he still had a good time.

Here is a link to the pictures we took in New Mexico if you want to see them. We didn't get a many as we wanted, but here they are.

Just a little update.
I know it has been too long. We are just puttering along here. Still working on the house when we can, trying to keep up with everyday life and have a little fun here and there. There's not too much time for that, but what can you do?
Tim and Titus have been sick lately. Right at the tail end of that, Titus had a horrible bout with teething. He's seems to be feeling better, though I can't see where any teeth actually made it though. Poor kid. Tim seems to be getting over it too. Hopefully that's the worst of it for this year. Not likely though with Titus in his first year of daycare.
He has gotten to be a really good walker lately. He got lots of practice when he when to Aunt Rebecca's. He didn't have to hang out in the playpen so much. Her house is really well baby-proofed. He got to give his cousin Caleb a good lesson in sharing before the next cousin comes along (sometime in the next few days, most likely.) Apparently sharing is not Caleb's favorite thing. Titus, for the most part, could have cared less. He just moved on to another toy. At the end of the visit, he started sticking up for himself a little, but he's pretty laid back. We all got sick while we were there. That was really not fun. Tim and Logan went on their camping/hunting trip, but were not able to get anything. They were sick too. Really a bad time overall to get a stomach bug.
Tim's Aunt Suzanne starts her chemothrapy for breast cancer today, so keep her in your prayers. She is in for some pretty intense treatment because she has a particularly agressive type of cancer. Pray that she will tolorate the chemo and radiation well.
Things are good so far with our next little one. I have an appointment next week. We'll keep you posted. One of the nurses at work was able to find the heartbeat last week, which was a blessing since they weren't able to hear anything at my first appointment.
Well, I'm going to try to get some picures up shortly. More later.

Titus' boo boo.
Titus took a hard fall last week at daycare and got a rug burn on his head. Then he got a little wild in the tub and broke the skin. Tim says he fussed for a minute and the started giggling. Tim was quite proud of his tough little guy, so he got some pictures, blood running down his face and all. Enjoy.
Titus' 1st haircut.
All the cute little curls are gone!! Can you believe it? We did this the last weekend in August before we went to New Mexico. Tim used our clippers in the garage with Titus' in his high chair and he just sat there. Didn't freak out, cry or squirm. He never stops amazing us! And now, no one can say he has a mullet. We couldn't have that anymore. When was finished, he got a fig newton, one of his favorites, for being so good.

Just another day...
Not too much new or exciting is going on, but things are going pretty well. Titus started daycare last week and really seems to like it. Tim says he's the only kid that is not fuussing when he drops him off. The first day I went to pick him up, he looked up at me and went right back to the toys. However, another boy grabbed my leg for dear life. Titus is so good natured. He is walking all over the place. Ever since he got any confidence at all, he's been more concerned about speed than grace, so he stumbles a lot, but he looks so proud when he walks around the house. He even moved up to the toddler nursery at church.
I'm at the really tired all the time and not liking eating so much stage of things, but other than that, I'm doing pretty well. My first appointment is in few weeks, but it's just a nurse info intake appt, so nothing exciting for a couple of months, I'm sure. That's fine with me, the less excting, the better when it comes to pregnancy. Please keeping praying for a healthy baby for us. No names picked out yet.
Tim has started working full time. He likes the job in general, although the other guys there are having a hard time accepting him and they seem to enjoy making things difficult for him and trying to keep "in line." Not that he is doing anything wrong. There's just a big generation gap. Pray for the transition to smooth out for him.
We still have so much to do on the house and so many boxes to unpack. It's hard to find the right order to get things done and finding a place to start. Mostly, life in general is busy enough with us both working full time and having a 1 year old that we never feel like we get much done in a day. Tim gets so much more done than I do. Hopefully it will feel like home eventually.
Not much else. As soon as find the battery charger to my camera, I can take some more picutres and get them posted. We love you all!

Announcements
Well, I had another birthday this week. They seem to be coming faster these days. I guess that's just part of life. I guess I should start feeling like an adult at some point, but most of the time I still feel like a kid, even though I a kid. Not sure what's up with that. Tim and his parents got me a Wii for my birthday. I guess that's not going to help me feel too old. I thnk I like that.
Here in a couple of weeks we are going to get to go to LasVegas, NM where Tim's sister lives. I'm going to stay and help her while her husband Logan and Tim (and maybe others) go hunting for elk. Pray that they will get one b/c that will fill their freezer for quite some time. She is due to have a baby around that time so I'll be there to make sure she's okay.
In other news, as many of you may already know, we have found ourselves to be expecting another little one in April sometime. We're still early on in the game, so keep us in your prayers. I have my 1st appointment in Septmeber. We'll keep you posted.
That's all for now. Take care and write when you can.

Progress
Well, as I mentioned, I have not posted much lately. We didn't have a whole lot of new news, but this has been a fairly eventful week. We finally made a place for the dining room table and were able to eat a real meal at it, with Titus at his high chair and everything. (He usually eats in his bouncer :-( I know, I'm a bad mommy!)
Tim has done a great job getting his garage stuff out of the kitchen and getting his garage organized. I know for most that is the last place to be organized, if ever, but not for him. He loves a clean, neat workspace and that is his workshop and haven. Regardless, our kitchen is getting cleaned out! In light of getting the kitchen clean and organized, we have a stovetop as of today!!! Thanks so much Mom and Dad!!! That was a great b-day present! We have most of the painting of the cabinets done. We just need to work on the doors. I don't remember if I mentioned it or not, but we have a dishwasher too. Life is good with a dishwaher. God bless America!
I finally got phone and internet service to our house, just to realize that we have covered up all the phone jacks when we were patching and replacing drywall. How silly are we? I did find the phone. So that is at least a step in the right direction, but Tim is going to have to figure out something with the phone lines. If you want our new phone number and address, just e-mail me and let me know. Make sure and give me your name in the e-mail if you think there's any chance I won't recognize it since I have made this a public blog. Don't want the bad guys to find us! ;)

Pictures (of Titus)
I know it has been a while since I posted. I started to a few times, but there wasn't really any new or exciting things to post. But I finally have a link to the 1 year portraits we had done a few weeks ago. I have the CD, so I will try to post them in a more direct manner later. But for now, here is the link to the Sears web site.
https://www.searsphotos.com/view_roll_images.asp?sesstype=4&sessid={4EAB0124-E0F6-4950-98B7-27417376BD95}&url=dep_order_portraits.asp&tag=F4A6844498D042849462E4999ED477972E3F724AD9D845C290E528DF5C7C5421
I hope that works. I'll double check it. On that some note, I have the CD and copyright, so if you want a copy of anything you don't need to pay $15 a sheet. Just let me know and I can either mail you a copy of the CD or email the picture or print it for you and send it to you. If you are a grandparent or great grandparent or Titus' aunt or uncle you will have something coming to you, but I didn't order a lot of prints this time. Let me know and I will be glad to get them to you.

Chaos
Our house is a mess right now. Even still, it's been nice to have our own space, messy as it may be. We still have a lot of work to do on the cabinets. After that, we can unpack the kitchen and that will make things much easier. Right now, we have a working fridge, sink, oven (not the range), and microwave. So we are able to cook, but nothing that requires too many real dishes or a range. I hate washing dishes, and without a dishwasher, I avoid using too much stuff that needs to be washed. ;)
Our room and our clothes are fairly well in place and I got the bathroom nearly ready to go on my days off. Taking showers is a really nice thing. I can even see myself in the mirror that is back on the wall.
Titus has his crib back and he loves it! He is up high and he has a bouncy mattress. He loves to bounce.
Titus got his 1 year shots today. He did so well. He also had to get blood drawn. He did try to bite the poor girl drawing his blood, but at least she didn't get stuck. Bad news is, I got a call from her this afternoon that one tube clotted, so we have to go through all that again. He didn't get sick this time around, so it was good overall.
We went to Sears to get pictures taken and the whole experience was a disater. They were running behind, the guy didn't move very fast, he was the only one working there. He wasn't even a good photographer. He literally demonstrated where I should sit after Tim was already in place. This put him in Tim's lap! Weird. Oh, and he smelled bad. I finally got aggravated enough to leave without even seeing the pictures. So I have to make another appointment to see them. If they're not worth buying, we're going to have someone else do them. I'll keep you posted as soon as there is something available for order.
I think I have ramblled on long enough for this post. More later. Have a blessed day!

Titus' Birthday Party
Titus turned 1 on Saturday. I had great plans to get up early and hang baloons over his bed like my mom always did for us when we were kids. I even got them ready before I went to bed. Turns out, I did get up early, at 3 am to his screaming, to find he had a fever. We spent the rest of the night in the recliner, with no baloons. :-( I had to give him Tylenol all day but he finally perked up a little before the party.
Everything else turned out so well. My parents got to come down, with no delayed flights. We decorated everything in Curious George. The cake turned out really well and we had a really nice turnout from a lot of our friends from church. I'll post some pictures of everything soon. I have to get them from the camera (and the grandparents' cameras) to the computer. Thank you to all who brought and sent gifts. They were all so nice. Stand by for thank you cards. I hope to work on that today.

Our "new" house
I'm going to try and post some pictures when I get home this morning, but I can tell you a little about the house we purchased. We closed on April 18, so we have been working on it a while. It was a bank foreclosure and we knew it needed some work and quite a bit of cosmetic updating, but as most remodels go, the more we tore out, the more we needed to tear out.
The previuos owner loved pink and teal. There was mauve carpet all over the house. We ripped all of that out, just to find nasty pad that indicated they must have had pets. We thought that we would try staining the concrete unitl we realized there was old schoolhouse tile underneath with glue that last forever. We thought we were in an expensive mess at that point, but God blessed us with an amazing deal on laminate wood flooring, so we bought enough for the living and dining room, the hall and the master bedroom. Tim has since placed all that with the help of his dad and our friend Nick. It looks really good. The floors in the kitchen and baths were nasty peel and stick tile. We slowly chipped all that up and replaced it with ceramic tile. That came out really nice. We left the carpet in the other 3 bedrooms and had it cleaned. I think that will do for now.
Tim has spent a lot of time working on plumbing. I am very grateful the he and Mark (his dad) were able to get thinks fixed. My parents came early in the summer and helped with all the sheetrock work that needed to be done. We have been painting like crazy and we're still not done. I went a little crazy making sure I had some color in the house after renting white walls for so long. I'll put pictures up of all that. Titus' room is going to be airplanes.
The yard still needs a lot of work. I hope to get to that in the fall. if not then, the spring. We have to replace the fence and we have a lot of debris to haul off. Our furniture and all of our other belongings that have been in storage for 6.5 months arrive Sunday. It's pretty much like they left it because I have been at work all week, but I have some days off and I hope to be staying there within the next week.
I'm excited for the after pictures. They will be coming soon. I'm excited to be comfortable in my own space again and I excited to be able to cook and sew and scrapbook again. All in all it has been a blessing and I'm glad we were able to get this house, but it has definitely been at lot of work.

What's new with us.
Well, I think I'm figuring this out. I just got off work, so forgive my spelling and grammar. I just wanted to give you all a quick update if you haven't seen us in a while. We are now living in Lubbock, TX. We just bought a house that we are renovating. Our furniture just arrived after having been in storage for over 6 months, so we are looking to move in soon, even though there is more work to do. I work in labor and delivery as a nurse. Tim has a job at a company that repairs tools. He is working part time now and working on the house and watching Titus, but in the fall he will go full time.
Titus' 1st birthday was Saturday. He is amazing. He knows several signs. He is starting to get some words and took his first steps last week. More about him later. He is a true joy.
We are glad to be out of the Navy. We still feel like we are transitioning, but we are getting more accustomed to civilian life. Some parts are easier, some are harder.
I'm about to fall asleep, so I need to get in the shower and go to bed. I'll try to fill in the bits and pieces as I go.

Welcome to our Blog!
Well, I have needed to do this for a while now. We have made so many friends and then moved and we have family spread out all over the country. I want to keep up with everyone and it is so much easier now with the technology that we have. I have really enjoyed looking at other blogs. I know I won't be able to keep up with it as well as some, but I will post when I can. My favorite part is that you can all see pictures and watch Titus grow, even though far away. Please comment and e-mail whenever you can, even if it's short. We want to know what's new with all of you. Bear with me as I learn how this works. More later.
